I started a blog!

I've been enjoying Dreamwidth immensely, but have been torn about what I want this journal to be. Is it a private space to write about my life, or a public space to discuss my interests? Meanwhile, I've been wanting to post my longer book reviews somewhere that isn't Goodreads.
So, I have started a separate book blog! It is called Dream Maps, I will be posting book reviews and essays, mainly about speculative fiction. I have several Goodreads reviews that I'll be adapting, and once I've exhausted my backlist, I hope to continue posting once a month or so.
For the time being I will share a link here whenever I post on the book blog. In the unlikely event that the blog gains its own momentum, I will stop cross-posting, but for now it seems sensible.
Additionally, I will be moving this journal to friends-only, since it will be strictly focused on personal life. Could change in the future, but seems like the right move for now.
I'm excited about this endeavor! Dreamwidth has been such a refreshing place to practice what I think of as "Slow Internet." Book blogs may be very 2009, but I am very 2009 and am looking forward to the practice of writing reflectively in this small corner of the web.
